About
A list for one very specific scream.
For years I've kept a spreadsheet, tracking where I have encountered the Wilhelm scream. Now I invite you to join the hunt.
This place serves as a platform where you can keep track of your own sightings. And a growing list of places you can go look for it next. My dream is that we together can build a complete archive of all uses of the iconic soundclip.
Here we treat each sighting as a small easter egg hunt. The first person to submit an entry gets finder credit. Later confirmations help verify it, and grow our collective confidence in the sighting.
The Wilhelm List archive does not host clips, screengrabs, timestamps, or other copyrighted material. It only keeps a public record of where the scream has been found by the users.
If you want the broader history of the sound itself, start with the Wilhelm scream article on Wikipedia.
Read the rules before submitting a sighting, and check the privacy note before creating an account.
